About Lodge #34

Lake Eufaula Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #34 is a subordinate lodge in Eufaula, Alabama, formed in 1986. The Alabama State Lodge lists us as Lodge #34 — Lake Eufaula Lodge.

How the Order is organized

Lodge 34 reports to the Alabama State Fraternal Order of Police. The State Lodge reports to the National Fraternal Order of Police (Grand Lodge, Nashville). That is the same structure used throughout the Order: local lodge, state lodge, national lodge.

The Alabama State FOP was established in 1947. Its published commitment is to improve the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve. It describes itself as the voice of law enforcement in Alabama and as a fraternal family — #FOPFamilyFirst. The State Lodge comprises more than sixty local lodges and several thousand members. Membership in a local Alabama lodge includes membership in the State Lodge and the National FOP.

This website is published by Lodge 34. It is not an official website of any city, county, or police department.

National Order

The National FOP is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 2,200 local lodges. It was founded on May 14, 1915, in Pittsburgh, when officers organized Fort Pitt Lodge #1 so that police officers could represent police officers. The National FOP works through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation.

Mission we share

In keeping with the Alabama State and National missions, Lodge 34 exists to support and defend the Constitution; to promote impartial enforcement of law; to improve the proficiency of our members; to encourage fraternal, educational, charitable, and social activity; to support fair civil-service and merit principles; and to cultivate mutual helpfulness among members and the public we serve.

The FOP star

The official five-pointed star of the National FOP is the emblem of this lodge. Gold, blue, and white are the colors of the Order. The open eye is vigilance; the clasped hands are friendship. The motto Jus, Fidus, Libertatum means “Law Is a Safeguard of Freedom.”

Lodge 34 on Facebook

The lodge maintains a Facebook group, Lake Eufaula FOP Lodge #34. The group’s published mission follows the Alabama State FOP: to support and defend the Constitution of the United States and of the State of Alabama. Meeting notices and member conversation may appear there in addition to this website.
